Austin Jacobs

Austin Jacobs has 10 years of archaeological experience in North America, primarily focused in the Southeastern, Mid-Atlantic, and Pacific Northwest regions of the United States as well as in the state of Tlaxcala in central Mexico. Mr. Jacobs has spent much of his career in CRM working on full-phase archaeological excavations and cultural monitoring projects. These projects include Forestry Service, energy sector, DOT, and land development contracts. Mr. Jacobs has experience in human and faunal skeletal excavation, identification, and analysis from archaeological contexts. In his current role at TerraX, Mr. Jacobs leads teams on field expeditions and assists with technical report writing. Mr. Jacobs received his B.A. in Anthropology from the University of Florida and his M.A. from the University of Central Florida (UCF) with a sub-disciplinary focus in Biological Anthropology/Bioarchaeology. At UCF, Mr. Jacobs’ research focused on the use of Stable Isotope Analysis to better understand changing social patterns and power dynamics at the boundary of the ancient kingdoms of Nubia and Egypt.
